NEWSFLASH!!!! My son Jacob, who left on a bicycle trip from Alaska to South America in June of 2006 is coming home in order to earn money to continue his journey. I haven't seen him in almost 2 years and I am sooooooo excited!

Happy Easter

It was a beautiful sunny Easter in Bakersfield with family. We met at Grandma and Grandpa's on Saturday for a family picnic and little Ross and Preston looked quite "dapper" on the bench in the garden. On Sunday, the Thompson's all attended The Bridge for church services (including the newlyweds) and then we had brunch together with Dutch Babies, Belgian Waffles, strawberries, blackberries and bacon. YUMMMM.We all enjoyed playing with Aubrey and getting her to say all her new words. It was an enjoyable, relaxing time with family.

Mr & Mrs Kurt Thompson

On Sunday, March 16th my youngest son Kurt married Alisha Howard in the beautiful gardens at the Bakersfield Museum of Art. The wedding was beautiful with lots of flowers, a beautiful sunny day with white billowing clouds and a cool breeze. The bride was beautiful and both Kurt and Alisha glowed with love and happiness. There were tears of happiness shed by parents of the bride, parents of the groom, the bride and those attending the wedding as they witnessed their public commitment to their Lord and each other. The wedding was followed by a reception at The Petroleum Club where a wonderful dinner was served, a DVD was shown of Kurt and Alisha from birth to the preset time and a lot of fun and dancing was had by all. My middle son Jacob was unable to attend so we missed him as we welcome Alisha into the family as a new daughter and sister. We pray for God's guidance and blessings as they begin their life as husband and wife.

Currently they are on a cruise to Mexico for their honeymoon.......

Here Comes The Bride

Last week has been a whirlwind of activities, news, grandma time and wedding preparation. To start off with, Saucie won the Sequoia Kennel Club Show on Friday and then the Kings Co. Kennel Club Show on Sunday (she won Winners Bitch , Best Opposite and Best of Winners!!) So, that was a great start to the week. I also heard from my traveling son Jacob and he will be coming home for awhile (needs to earn money in order to continue his journey) so I will get to see him April for the first time in almost 2 years. I also watched Aubrey all day Thursday and had a lot of fun eating chocolate pudding together, playing outside, going to the park and a petting zoo. We also went to the store and bought a baby doll, it amazes me how she "mothers" her little dolls , but, of course she has been mothered by the best so of course she would imitate that with her dolls. She is such a happy loving little girl and such a warm addition to my life.

Lastly, the Thompson household is getting ready for a WEDDING!! My youngest son Kurt will be getting married on Sunday the 16th and the excitement is building. I went with Alisha and her mom for the final fitting of the wedding dress - she is going to be a very, very beautiful bride and I'm so happy for them and happy to be getting another daughter.
